Lea Hough’s experienced team provide Measured Building Surveys and the preparation of plan drawings for a variety of purposes.
A Measured Building Survey refers to the internal and external measured survey of a building, followed by the production of a set of detailed scaled drawings.
There are many reasons why we are instructed to undertake a Measured Survey to provide a set of drawings for a property. These range from clients simply wanting to have a record of their building (e.g. an accurate “as-built” existing layout plan as part of an asset register, or for a Fire Plan or for an assessment of the size of the building), through to having a set of plans drawn up as the starting point for a building project.
For example, if you intend to undertake significant alterations to a property, or have a building project that involves obtaining Planning Consent or Building Regulations Approval, or if you are involved with a new-build property or development, it is likely that you will need a Measured Survey.
Lea Hough’s team will visit the property to undertake the Measured Building Survey and use the latest technology to produce accurate and highly detailed floor plans, sections and elevations of existing buildings / structures, and scaled Site Plans if required.
A Measured Building Survey is often crucial for effectively managing a building alteration or renovation project and can include as much detail as is required. Measured Building Surveys ensure that plan layout drawings are accurate and contain all construction details and the necessary information required.
Where required, we are able to produce plans of the entire site inclusive of the land around it, which may take the form of either a simple Site Plan drawing, or more detailed contour plan / topographical survey, showing all levels, topography, boundaries, etc.
Roof plans can also be provided, either independently or as a part of a complete building survey / drawing exercise.
All drawings produced as a result of a Measured Building Survey are can be delivered in either CAD or PDF format, or as a hard copy.
Our experience in this area extends to both private and commercial properties – including individual dwellings, industrial buildings, offices, shops, churches, schools, academies, sixth form colleges, Listed buildings and proposed development sites.
Wherever required, following on from the production of a set of existing drawings, our Architectural Technicians can prepare proposal drawings and feasibility studies for proposed projects that clients are considering, such as extensions, internal adaptations, re-modelling works, alterations. Refurbishments, conversions, etc.
